About 3D X-Rays
3D X-rays provide San Diego, CA cosmetic dentists, Dr. Langenbach and Dr. Thomas, with a more complete picture of a patient’s oral health. With this highly accurate diagnostic tool, the dentists can customize treatment more efficiently for a brighter, healthier future. Instead of the traditional, flat X-rays, the machine captures all aspects of the patient’s mouth, in addition to the head, face, and neck. Best of all, a patient simply sits as the machine goes around the patient in a complete circle. The images appear instantaneously on a screen for Dr. Langenbach and Dr. Thomas to view for improved efficiency.
3D X-Ray Reviews
"Thank you for the excellent care. The cleaning and the checkup. "- P. / Demandforce / Sep 15, 2011
"I recently had a procedure at Dr. Langenbach's office. I am amazed at the care I received. The procedure I had done took over 4 hours. They covered me with a warm blanket, they kept applying great smelling lip balm so that my lips would not be chapped, and they made sure that I was in zero pain throughout the ENTIRE time. Instead of being at the dentist, I felt like I was spending the day at the spa. I am over the moon with the way my smile looks. I would HIGHLY recommend Dr. Langenbach."- C. / Healthgrades / Dec 07, 2016
"A great experience always and a staff who are always pleasant, friendly and helpful. :) "- P. / Demandforce / Aug 04, 2012
"As always, Michelle provides a comfortable teeth cleaning session, even though she strongly said that I should try using my electric teeth cleaner. See her in 4 months, February. "- L. / Demandforce / Oct 05, 2012
"Always great work, staff and doctors."- P.L. / Doctor.com / Nov 14, 2016
What to Expect
The 3D X-ray allows a patient to sit while the machine moves around the patient’s head in a complete circle. The imaging machine is essentially an X-ray scanner that is mounted onto a rotating arm. The process takes less than a minute and requires no special action or preparation on the part of the patient. The 3D X-ray will provide instant and accurate images of the patient’s mouth, head, neck, and face. Compared to traditional X-rays, there’s rarely a need for the X-ray to be re-done due to inaccuracy or poor visibility. There’s also no film involved with 3D X-rays.
From the 3D X-rays, both the dentist and the patient can view the images to get a better assessment of what’s going on with the patient's teeth. The X-rays can be used to determine the presence of tumors, abscesses, gum problems, and more. It is often used before dental implant surgery, Invisalign®, and other procedures.
Costs of 3D X-rays vary from patient to patient, so it’s important to discuss accurate pricing during a one-on-one interview. If you have dental insurance, it’s always a good idea to see if any of the costs would be covered.
